FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Get healthy, get fit and reduce stress without leaving your home or office with Equilibrium Lifestyle Management
Lifestyle management company now providing customized, medically approved services in Ottawa
Ottawa – October 12, 2005 – Living a long and healthy life means making a commitment to eat healthy food, get regular exercise and avoid stress. For most people, it’s tough finding the time to do the things that their body and mind need to stay healthy, happy and productive.
Launching today at the L’Esplanade Laurier Shopping Centre, Equilibrium Lifestyle Management is a new health service that seamlessly integrates into an individual’s schedule to create a customized, medically approved health and wellness program. Lifestyle managers work with clients at their home, office or gym and arrange training sessions that suit the client’s schedule.
Through a combination of personal training, natural nutritional counselling and stress management techniques, Equilibrium’s lifestyle managers work with individuals and their family physician to set realistic and attainable health goals.
“The Equilibrium philosophy is all about balancing an individual’s life.” Says Leah Epstein, founder of Equilibrium Lifestyle Management. “Lifestyle managers educate individuals so that they can make long-term health and wellness gains and avoid the pitfalls associated with yo-yo diets and out-of-the can fitness programs. Equilibrium’s goal is to create a lasting impact that will empower the individual to make healthier choices for themselves for the rest of their life.”
Each customized program is designed by an Equilibrium lifestyle manager, in cooperation with the individual’s family physician and approved by Equilibrium’s medical director.
“Over the past 20 years I have prescribed and counselled patients to get more exercise, eat a healthier diet and reduce stress.” Says Dr. Don Wilson, medial director, Equilibrium Lifestyle Management and practicing family physician. “The greatest barrier to a healthier life for many patients is that they lack the knowledge, time or motivation to make positive changes in their lives. Equilibrium’s programs provide individuals with the incentive to make medically needed lifestyle changes and improve their chances of living full lives and avoid serious health complications.”
Founded in Toronto by Leah Epstein, Equilibrium’s unique approach to helping people live healthier lives with customized health and wellness programs has seen her company rapidly grow to satisfy demand. In the Muskoka region, Equilibrium runs a unique program called Fitness to the Dock. Lifestyle mangers travel by boat to provide personal training, stress management and nutrition counselling directly to residents or vacationers.
Equilibrium lifestyle managers travel with all the equipment that they need to work with clients at almost any location. The client does not need to invest in equipment of their own. All lifestyle managers undergo a proprietary training program that has been medically approved, by Equilibrium’s medical director.
To celebrate the launch, Equilibrium Lifestyle Management is hosting a health fair at the L’Esplanade Laurier Shopping Centre on October 12th, 2005 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Supporting partners that will also be participating in the health fair include; Sports 4, Glebe Apothecary, Professional Physiotherapy Centres, Shoppers Home Health Care and the Natural Food Pantry.
The media is invited to attend a personal consultation with an Equilibrium lifestyle manager or attend a demonstration on “how to balance your work day.” The demonstration will illustrate the simple changes that the average office employee can make to improve their diet, reduce stress and get exercise throughout the work day. The presentation is scheduled for 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Equilibrium’s founder Leah Epstein and medical director Dr. Don Wilson will also be available for interview.
