NEWS RELEASE

Healthy Canadian Media Group, 50Plus Magazine Announce Partnership

(Toronto, Dec 9, 2002) The Healthy Canadian Media Group (HCMG) and 50Plus Magazine are pleased to announce an agreement through which HCMG will distribute Canada’s leading mature market magazine through HCMG’s PatientDirect TV Network of 750 family medical clinics across Canada. HCMG and 50 Plus also plan to combine sales efforts to co-promote a joint physician waiting room advertising package. The two companies will also share health, travel, personal finance and lifestyle editorial content, targeted specifically for the fifty-plus demographic, Canada’s fastest-growing consumer group.

Healthy Canadian Media Group’s PatientDirect TV combines closed circuit television and digital computer technology to deliver educational content and advertising messages to waiting rooms of Canadian healthcare facilities. Using computer graphics, animation and motion video, information is displayed on a large screen TV, in a looped format, repeating every 20-30 minutes. Programming at each site consists of health information focused around monthly features, health hints, FAQs and news and weather updates.

“As a result of this important agreement with 50Plus Magazine, viewers in PatientDirect TV locations will enjoy superbly written health and lifestyle articles from one of Canada’s premier national lifestyle magazines. The award-winning editorial information in 50Plus Magazine will supplement and complement  the educational content shown on PatientDirect TV screens”, says Dr. Don Wilson, President, Healthy Canadian Media Group.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Healthy Canadian Media, in that it offers increased visibility and readership of our magazine to our target market,” states David Tafler, Publisher of 50Plus Magazine. “Presenting 50 Plus Magazine’s lifestyle content in concert with PatientDirect TV’s on-screen health information, means providing a practical but entertaining communications package to every waiting room patient, in addition to greatly enhancing the value proposition for sponsors”.

Potential sponsors will have the opportunity to promote and advertise in 50Plus Magazine and over the PatientDirect TV Network as part of a bundled package, targeted to the health care consumer. Sponsors will enjoy access to a national magazine with readership topping 840,000 annually and TV viewership of 8.5 million people, in medical clinics located in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and across Ontario.
